Like Anton Dixon, Dean Monroe has been a striking presence in some of the sexiest Gay Adult movies of the last few years. Both are about to star in Bruce La Bruce's new film "The Rasberry Reich".

Christian: How many movies have you made and which was the first?

Dean: The first one was "The White Room" which was done here in London. That was ages ago now.

Christian: What made you want to do that?

Dean: My Then boyfriend sent of a photo to Millivres and they asked me to go for a casting, and it kind of went naturally from there.

Christian: Were you nervous?

Dean: I was kind of nervous before I got there, because I didn’t know what to expect….but then when I got there and he just said …just enjoy yourself, have sex, use a dildo or whatever, so I did.

Christian: Do you find you are able to forget that the camera is there?

Dean: Yes totally

Christian: Really?

Dean: Yes that’s what makes it easy for me, I just concentrate on the guy I am with.

Christian: And did you meet the guy for The White Room Before…did you get a chance to pick who you would be with?

Dean: No. So that was a surprise. Normally that works out, though there are times when you don’t like someone as a person, although funnily that won’t necessarily show in the sex.

And some times amusing things will happen during the shooting. Its like once a guy kept fucking me for like an hour while I was getting my make up done, and he ended up cumming before they had even started shooting the scene.

Christian: Oh my God

Dean: So anyway I think I’ve done four films now or five.

Christian: There’s the one in Germany?

Dean: No, two in Germany.

Christian: Of course "Raspberry Reich". Which part do you play in that film? I know of course that Anton gets fucked in a car boot.

Dean: I play a terrorist called Andreaus, who isn’t actually gay, but ends up having sex in the end

Christian: Of course you know the film will probably play in a regular art house cinema, before coming out as an R18

Dean: Oh Yeah?!

Christian: I think that’s kind of cool. My distributor is also distributing "Raspberry Reich". Was it a good experience working with Bruce La Bruce?

Dean: Yes. It was long, ten days and the weather was really bad in Berlin, and we were outside most of the time, and we had to learn lines, a lot of lines…but it was fun.

Christian: Are you the one of the guys who has really long speeches?

Dean: Yes I had this really long monologue…and we went to this disused industrial park and next to the rail lines, and I had to do this monologue with the trains running past behind me. And it was very cold that day and we were wearing seventies gear, which wasn’t so warm…. But it was fun.

Christian: And it will look good. Did you see any rushes?

Dean: No not at all

Christian: That’s a pity, Sometimes when you are making a non porn film the actors get to see the rushes every evening. But it can also be a bad thing if an actor doesn’t like what he sees or doesn’t like his performance.

Dean: But it was also roughly cut together, so I imagine it doesn’t matter ‘caus a lot of it has a cool impromptu feel.

Christian: He has a really big reputation, so I’m sure it will do really well.

Dean: One of my favourite scenes was when we had learn how to shoot guns. We were in a shooting range and there were real guns with real bullets.

Christian: Oh fuck

Dean: And it was like we were shooting the guns, but its like we were having sex with the weapon, and it was like "ahh", (sex sounds) every time we were shooting. I was with the girl who is the head of the organisation, the Raspberry Reich and in the end we started making like passionate kissing with the guns and like swallowing them

Christian: And this was being shot, it wasn’t rehearsal?

Dean: Oh Yeah! It was fun that day.

Christian: Guns are very strange. I worked with a gun in a film once, not a real one, but we kept it in a jiffy bag and everyone wanted to touch it, it had a kind of fetishistic quality.

Dean: We had like two hours of training before, to actually shoot this little scene. We had to wear ear protectors etc.

Christian: It sounds cool. How was the other German film you shot, which sounds like more of a pure porn film?

Dean: It was four days, it was a really, really tight schedule, we had to wake up at a certain time, like seven o clock then it was straight to the studio. I think I had the most scenes out of everyone. I did four or five scenes in like three days!.

Christian: Wow that is a lot..

Dean: I mean some scenes I had to cum twice

Christian: I don’t think I’d shoot more than one scene per day.

Dean: I know but that’s how they work there, they are very quick, its like a factory, they know what they want, they set it up and they shoot it, and that’s where they expect so much of the actors, ‘caus its like you need to get a hard on now, fuck now, cum now. Its tough

Christian: So are you versatile in those scenes?

Dean: No I was passive in all of them.

I was versatile in one film that I did a few months back for a guy called Steve Brewer.

Christian: The Spanish film?

Dean: No it was the one after the Spanish film. I saw the Spanish film, it looks really good. They took loads of time to edit it, lots of special effects, but the guys are not necessarily my type…very boyish.

Christian: I should ask you what type of guys you go for, I need to know that for future movies.

Dean: In the last film we did together ("Hard Games") I really liked that builder guy. He’s more my type.

Christian: He’s actually pretty straight, he was in a Channel4 documentary fairly recently

Dean: Well

Christian: But the scene you did turned out pretty well. It looks like you guys have a cool chemistry

Dean: Yeah.

Christian: Have you seen scene?

Dean: I’ve looked through the rest of the film, but I don’t really like watching myself….not that much.

Christian: Yeah a lot of the models don’t want to watch themselves. I guess that’s understandable. Have you ever worked with anyone who said they were straight, "Gay for Pay?"

Dean: Yeah in a couple of films

Christian: Do you notice the difference?

Dean: No.

Christian: But surely if you say you are straight?…

Dean: Yeah but these guys got hard ons straight away. They seemed to enjoy fucking me. Maybe its just a title.

Christian: Are there studios you haven’t worked for that you would have liked to work for?

Dean: Kristen Bjorn, and I was always a big fan of Falcon

Christian: Are you familiar with the Falcon models?

Dean: Kind of

Christian: But you are familiar with the look, because I wanted to ask if there was someone in particular who you would like to work with? Anton was saying he can never remember names. But everyone says they would like to work for certain studios, like Bel Ami

Dean: Well you have to be a certain age to work for Bel Ami. I’m too old….you can only be up to 25 ‘caus they have to stick to a particular look.

Christian: I think occasionally they have used older.

Dean: Anyway I have more of an edgy look….not so clean cut and sweet, not a twink look.

Christian: You’ve never worked in America.? ‘Caus I’d be interested to find how the process of making a film is different there.

Dean: No

Christian: There were no Americans in the German film?

Dean: No , Czech, English, German.

Christian: I was hearing that the Czech guys were really good.

Dean: Yeah and really straight, really gay for pay, but the director wouldn’t allow them to have straight porn on the set, he was tough (Laughs)

Christian: I wish I could do that, I couldn’t never be that tough (laughs). Only one of my models has ever asked for straight porn, and that was to do the cum shot, not the sex. Of the films that you have done have you got a favourite scene or partner?

Dean: Most of the time I’ve been with twinks

Christian: Would you prefer it, if when you were cast they asked you what kind of guys you liked?

Dean: In the last German film there was a bigger range of guys, there were twinks there were muscle guys So I kind of more got to pick the kind of guys I worked with. I had a favourite scene with a German skinhead bodybuilder.

I had also been asked to shoot a film in quite an exotic location, a jungle or something, but that didn’t happen.

Christian: There’s getting to be more of an industry over here, but obviously the main industry is in the USA and the pay is much better there. The models who shoot films over there tend to be in a lot of titles.

Dean: And in Germany. It’s a big industry over there. These guys have this big studio, where they shoot, cut edit, everything. I mean the film comes out just a few weeks after its shot. Its like a factory. They have just boxes and boxes of films they are about to release out back.

Christian: Has the experience of shooting these films changed since the first one.?

Dean: Yes like anything else you learn from experience. It got easier.

Christian: And I’m intrigued that you forget that the camera is there, you find it quite natural.?

Dean: Pretty much

Christian: And you do find that you enjoy the sex you are having in the film?

Dean: Very much

Christian: I mean its not completely acting

Dean: No, you have to enjoy it, its completely acting you could tell, especially for a passive role. To get fucked….like you have to enjoy it, else you wouldn’t feel conformable

Christian: But a lot of people outsider the industry assume it has to be acting, and to be perfectly honest with some of the American films when you watch them it does look like they are kind of going through the motions. So I guess for the really good films, it does need to look fresh.

Dean: Sometimes they can overdo the acting over there.

Christian: The camera can tell if someone is enjoying it, I mean if you are doing a big close up of someone’s eyes, you can see what they are thinking

Dean: Exactly.

Christian: Is there anything you haven’t done in a film that you would have liked to do?

Dean: I have never done an orgy scene, a gang bang. That would have been cool.

Christian: LOL I think that could be arranged.

Dean: I did my double penetration for the first time, in Germany, the last film

Christian: How was that?

Christian: It was good

Christian: Did you find that difficult to do?

Dean: No it was very easy

Christian: I’m sorry… stupid question

Dean: No well I said to the guy the night before that I’d love to do a double penetration.

Christian: Were the guys big?

Dean: Well one was a dildo, that was HUGE

Christian: Its an intriguing thing to do, getting into the right position to do a double fuck.

Is there anything you’ve been asked to do in a film that you didn’t want to do?

Dean: No never, but as I said I would have liked to do a gang bang and maybe like a leather fetish movie

Christian: Well I’d like to do a leather movie with Warren, the guy you mentioned earlier. But the thing is, in the UK you can’t get ultra hard.

Dean: I kind of meant just being chained up….I’m not talking about really painful stuff. But they sell the films here don’t they?

Christian: But there is certain things you can’t do over here, heavy dildo play and fisting. So if you did a gang bang movie it could have been with six guys or something

Christian: Actually one of the difficult things I find at the moment is finding guys to be tops.
